There are two two types :
1. parallel ATA
2. Serial ATA
Some steps are there while upgrading your laptop’s hard drive:
1. Remove the existing or old Drive:
Be careful while removing the existing drive. Do not break or bend the connectors which are very delicate.
2. Identifying the Primary Hard Drive:
First find out the system’s existing hard drive. you can access your laptop’s BIOS and related settings. After identifying, Google the make and model to find out what type of disk does your laptop requires exactly.
3.Rebuild the System:
After re-assembling, turn-on the laptop. Get into the BIOS and try to access the boot menu. In order to ensure a smooth re-installation of Windows, make sure your DVD drive is first in the boot.
